Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, the park has 35 campsites and 15 fully equipped cabins with kitchens. Fourteen miles of trails encircle the mountain and recreation facilities include a pool, tennis courts, picnic areas, a playground, pavilions, bicycle rentals and a ball field. A visitor center with exhibits and a park store are other amenities. (Trailers over 24 feet should not attempt to reach the park at the top of the mountain.)
