Two park locations on 34,000-acre lake: Russellville (main park) and Dardanelle. Bass fishing, boat ramps, hiking trails, lake tours, pavilion, campground, marina and miniature golf. The new lakeside visitors center features interactive exhibits, educational programs, state-of-the-art audio visual equipment, classrooms. Major aquatic exhibit has four aquariums focusing on local waterways and their tributaries.
With nearly 40,000 acres of boating and fishing waters, and rimmed by choice picnic and camping areas, Dardanelle offers many recreational opportunities. An impoundment of the Arkansas River, the lake boasts populations of large catfish. White bass are native to the river, with adults traveling in schools and feeding near the surface. Bream, crappie and largemouth bass have been stocked in the lake and provide excellent sport fishing.
