Theatre, dance, visual arts and music—they’re all found in The Natural State. Performances by Broadway touring companies can be seen in Fayetteville, Little Rock and Texarkana along with other communities. The Arkansas Repertory Theatre in Little Rock plus community theatre companies in Pine Bluff, Jonesboro, Fort Smith, Rogers, Russellville, Helena and El Dorado, just to mention a few, provide entertaining productions. Theatre departments at colleges and universities also offer opportunities to see live presentations.

Symphonies are found in such towns as Little Rock, Fort Smith, Pine Bluff, El Dorado and Jonesboro, while opera is featured in various locations as well. Down-home bluegrass and folk music are Arkansas specialties and found in free impromptu performances on court squares or in multi-day festivals.

Arts centers and galleries display works of both the masters and up-and-coming artists in communities all across the state. The Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock features, among other things, a world-class collection of works on paper.
