Six colorful murals depict the history of Magnolia are located around the historic square; one is located in the lobby of the Best Western Coachman's Inn.
The town's first mural was entitled "Cotton Wagons on the Square—1904." The second one commemorates the city's popular World's Championship Steak Cook-off and Magnolia Blossom Festival. The third pays tribute to local citizen with the historic square at Magnesia Springs, once a popular local resort in the 1800s, and woodlands filled with wildlife. The remaining murals focus on the area's oil industry, the timber industry and the history of Southern Arkansas University located in Magnolia.
